The purpose of the blog.

As a child, writing was something deeply personal and exciting to me. I wrote feverishly, excited by the potential that was held by simply putting words on a piece of paper. It dazzled me that I could create new worlds, new experiences, new things with the stroke of a pen. As I got older, I drifted from adventure and fantasy stories to more emotive short story formats (as one does naturally when they enter adolescence) and discovered a new power, the power of writing to be evocative.

Despite the passion developing for the craft of writing as I aged, I began to be burdened by life. The harrowing experience of being thrust into adulthood, new responsibilities, and the changing tides of time redirected my attentions to survival. It is only recently, now in my mid-20s, that I have begun to dedicate myself once more to writing. It is also now more important than ever to write from the heart. With generative AI threatening to take away the soul of human creativity and convert the great world wide web from a global community to a soulless corporate entity designed to advertise, imitate, and persuade our every thought as we traverse the 0s and 1s – Dappled Light Creative is a journey to reclaim human creativity and leave a personal mark in a now impersonal world.
